The Boro & Towne News welcomes news tips, press releases, guest columns, obituaries, and letters to the editor.  Local organizations & businesses hosting special events, be sure to submit them to our Community Calendar!

All submissions must include your name, municipality, phone, and email address. Confidential news tips are welcome, but not anonymous ones.  If you would like your name withheld as a source, please let us know and tell us the reason.

Obituaries – We publish obituaries without charge for people from, or who have had an important impact on, the Top of the Mountain Community.  Obituaries may be edited for style, substance, policy, and space. We do not guarantee the placement or publication of the obituary or photo. Ask your funeral director to submit your loved one’s obituary to News@theboronewspaper.com, or by Fax to 570-820-8444.

Letters – Letters should be related to our community and be exclusive to The Boro & Towne. We do not publish open, anonymous, or third-party letters. We encourage a diversity of voices and views in our letters.

They should be 150 to 175 words and must include the writer’s name, address, e-mail, and phone number (we only publish your name & municipality). No attachments, please. Letters may be edited and shortened for space.

Send them to News@theboronewspaper.com, or mail to 3308 Route 940, Suite 104 Mount Pocono, PA 18344.

Be a Guest ColumnistThe Boro & Towne accepts opinion essays on any topic. Published pieces typically run from 400 to 950 words, but drafts of any length within the bounds of reason will be considered.

We ask that every one include a one-sentence author ID at the top or bottom of the submission. Please do not assume we are going to know who you are.  Also, be sure to include annotations for all assertions and attributions made in your essay.  But we do not print footnotes.

All submissions must be original, exclusive to The Boro and, as a matter of security, embedded in the text of an email, not as an attachment. Submissions may be sent to our editor at Tom@theboronewspaper.com.
