Ballot boxes have returned to the Pocono Mountain Public and Clymer Libraries for use in the May 18 Municipal Primary.

Voters using mail-in or absentee ballots can deposit their votes in these boxes until 8 pm on election day, instead of mailing them or personally delivering the envelopes to the county election office.

The secure ballot boxes are accessible during the normal business hours of the two libraries.

The Clymer Library is located at 115 Firehouse Lane in Pocono Pines. It is open at 10 am every day except Sunday when it is closed. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Clymer closes at 8 pm, other days at 5.

The Pocono Mountain Public Library is at 5500 Municipal Drive in Coolbaugh Township, Tobyhanna, PA 18466. Also closed on Sunday, the PMPL opens at 9:30 and closes at 6pm daily except Saturday when it closes at noon.

Voters are reminded that they will still need to place their voted ballots in the sealed privacy envelop, then place that envelop in the main envelope, signing and dating the outer envelope. The failure to use both envelopes or to sign the outer envelop will result in the vote not being counted.

Voters who registered for a mail-in or absentee ballot may still vote at the polls on election day. To do that, they will need to bring their unvoted paper ballot, with the envelopes, to the polling place. If they are not available, they can still vote at the polls using a provisional ballot. The provisional ballot will be counted after election day by the county elections office once they confirm that the mail-in or absentee ballot was not returned to the elections office.

Voters can check their registration status by going to the state voters website, votespa.com.
