ROBERT J. “BOB” NICHOLSON (1947-2021), 74, Long Pond, passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, May 28, 2021, at his beloved home.
Born May 6, 1947, in Trenton, he was a son of the late, Richard W. and Edith (Semler) Nicholson. Bob graduated from Hamilton High School West, Hamilton, NJ, and Mercer County Community College. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and following his discharge, he continued his service to the United States Army Reserves. Bob spent his working career with the New Jersey Department of Health as Assistant Director. Following his retirement, he relocated to Emerald Lakes in Long Pond, previously used as a weekend retreat.
He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Gothic-Fraternal Lodge#270 Hamilton Twp. New Jersey. Bob enjoyed watching the Yankees and discussing their current stats with his brother, and loved his dog.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his wife of 45 years, G. Jean Nicholson, and brothers, Ronald and Roger.
Surviving is his brother Richard (Mary Ann), a niece and nephew.
Rev. Bob Marks, senior Pastor at St. Mark United Methodist Church, Hamilton Squire, conducted a graveside service with Army military honors in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
