George F. Allen
George F. Allen (1939-2022), 82, Tobyhanna, passed away after an unexpected illness on Friday afternoon, April 8, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Jeanette (Dziuba) Allen with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Born on November 12, 1939, in Dickson City, he was the son of the late George and Josephine (Kolvaski) Allen. He grew up in Brooklyn, and lived on Long Island, before moving to Tobyhanna in 1989.
George served in the United States Air Force.
In earlier years, while attending night school, he was a taxi cab driver and then later worked as a computer analyst for City Bank and CT, from where he retired.
George was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Parish in Cresco and the American Legion.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two children, Jeneen Quinlan, Mount Vernon, NY, and Matthew Hogan (Jacqueline), Massachusetts; a brother in law, Chester Dziuba (Ali), Ft. Lauderdale; a sister, Kathy Barton, Staten Island; two grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
There will be a prayer service on Monday, April 18, at 10 am at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg with Deacon Jose Mendoza officiating. Cremation was private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
