TTVFC Back in Court Faceoff with Township on Dec 20

Second Date Set for Adjourned Hearing on Township’s Motion to Prevent Fire Company from Serving Residents

DEC 14 2022, 6:45pm

STROUDSBURG —A Monroe County judge has set Tuesday, December 20, at 9am, for the resumption of the hearing of Tobyhanna Township’s request to prevent the Tobyhanna Township Volunteer Fire Company from serving in the township even when asked to do so because the response times of other providers are not sufficient to provide medical aide or protection services.

The initial hearing was interrupted after less than an hour of testimony when Judge Dan Higgins stopped the proceeding at the conclusion of the examination of the fire company president by the township attorney. It is expected that Ed Tutrone, fire company president, will be taking the stand at the outset of the resumed hearing.

The hearing is scheduled for the small, basement courtroom number 6 in the Monroe County Courthouse in downtown Stroudsburg. The public is welcome to attend.
